Tax Exemption

For NEMA to recognize your organization's tax-exempt status, you will need to submit your tax-exempt information for our files.

 

What information do I need to provide?

You'll need to provide a copy of your tax-exempt certificate, your Tax ID, the effective date of your tax-exempt status, and a contact person and phone number where we can reach you if we have any questions.

What happens next?

Once your exemption certificate has been received, the validation process typically takes 5–10 business days. When your exemption has been validated, you'll receive an email confirming that your tax-exempt status has been approved. After that, you can make purchases without tax automatically until your certificate expires.

 

When placing online orders, please note that your tax exemption must already be approved for the exemption to apply. You must also be logged in to your account for your validated exemption to be recognized. Exemptions apply only to orders shipped to addresses within the state listed on your exemption certificate.
